“To do good is noble. To tell others to do good is even nobler and much less trouble.”
—Mark Twain
In the spirit of sharing and giving back to the less fortunate sector of the community, TYF, Inc. has launched its first ever Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event. It was held last June 22, 2012.
We have chosen two non-government organizations (NGO) to be granted with donations from our TYF, Inc. family. These are both children’s centers located here in Cebu.
The Cebu Hope Center Inc. is a safe haven for victims of sexual abuse, physical violence, and neglect. The center provides access to health care and education to 80 girls with ages from 5 to 18 years old.
On the other hand, the Children of Asia Center – Philippines is an NGO who provides food and shelter, education and medical care to children who belong below the marginalized sector of the Cebu society. These children once lived on the sidewalks and inside the cemeteries in the areas of Tabo-an and Carreta. They housed a total of 800 children as young as 2 years old to youth who are already attending college.

Our TYF, Inc. family responded well to the call of reaching out to these children by donating toys, school supplies, grocery items, toiletries, bags, used clothing, and food. We have gathered donations by placing a large box in our office lobby, encouraging our employees to drop their donations inside. The donations were then evenly distributed to the two child centers.
Aside from pooling in donations from our TYF, Inc. family, some members volunteered to visit the centers and help in the distribution of the donations. A total of 15 volunteered for the CSR event. They are as follows:
Clarissa McCardle (HR Mngr.) |
Mako Capulong (WFG Mngr.) |
Sherwyn Ayao (IT Mngr.) |
Stephanie Carianga (Marketing Mngr.) |
Monica Gotiong (Recruitment Mngr) |
Jacky Laude (Training Manager) |
Ritch Santos (QA Mngr) |
Menchie Jabonillo (Accounts Mngr) |
Tina Mutia (EPA/Facilities Mngr) |
Mayse Ferolin (Public Relations Mngr.) |
Ferris Tecson (Recruitment Selection Associate) |
Rhea Bajade (Procurement Officer) |
Aaron Vidal (Financial & Cost Accountant) |
Emmanuel Obiedo (Business Devt Officer) |
Josh Capuyan (Recruitment OJT)
Many of our volunteers were moved by the sincere and deep gratitude expressed by the children. The volunteers were moved to tears when children from the Cebu Hope Center Inc. sang “Thank You” in bidding the volunteers good-bye.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility event was a success. We will continue to promulgate our CSR activities and, in a way, share our accomplishments to the society of Cebu.
